ME and MIP plan to issue the below procurement opportunities

Thirteen local companies are being assisted by Malta Enterprise to participate in the Libya Healthcare Exhibition being held at the Tripoli International Fair between September 11th and 13th.

While this is the ninth time that the fair is being held, this year's edition is the first to be organised following the uprisings that characterized the past year and is consequently presenting various opportunities while Libya goes through a process of reconstruction.

Representatives from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office to the European Union in Brussels, the Honk Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC) and Invest Hong Kong (IHK) addressed local enterprises interested in doing business in the region during a business seminar organized by Malta Enterprise with the scope of increasing awareness about the business opportunities that Hong Kong has to offer.

Malta has climbed four places in the Global Competitiveness Index published by the World Economic Forum, moving up to 47^th place among 144 countries.

The Report classifies Malta among the leading economies within the innovation-driven category, with its improvement being among the best among the EU-27 countries where only two other member states registering a bigger movement up the rankings.

Malta Industrial Parks Ltd (MIP) and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry have signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) to revise the rent policy and service charge across the industrial estates managed by MIP.

The revised rent policy refines the manner through which the rent payable by the tenants at the industrial estates is determined. While the minimum and maximum rental rates have remained the same, the mechanism that establishes the amount due by the individual tenants within those brackets is being changed.

Malta Enterprise is organising an investment seminar on doing business with Hong Kong, highlighting the opportunities that this leading business location and premier gateway to the mainland Chinese market offers, shortly before leading another business delegation to China.
