The Corporation
Malta Enterprise is committed to attracting foreign investment to Malta as well as providing the necessary support and assistance to businesses operating on the islands to improve their international competitiveness.
The corporation operates under a Board appointed by the Minister of Finance, the Economy and Investment. The Chief Executive Office, Chris Falzon, reports to the Board and is responsible for the daily management of the corporation. A Senior Management Team deals with the ongoing delivery of the corporation’s services and is split into four operating divisions spanning various business disciplines.

Board Members
The Board is composed of 9 members, many of whom come from the private business sector. The Board oversees the performance and strategic direction of Malta Enterprise. It is also responsible for ensuring the highest standards of operation, efficiency and correctness in the use of public funds.

The Management Team and Divisions
The Chief Executive Officer, Chris Falzon, reports to the Board and manages Malta Enterprise’s Senior Management Team, who is responsible for achieving the corporation’s targets as set out in the strategic and business plan. The Senior Management Team is grouped into four operating divisions, three of which are headed by a Chief Officer and the fourth one falling directly under the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer. The Divisions focus on:
- Business Development
- Strategy, Knowledge Management & Innovation
- Incentives & Finance
- Corporate Functions
The first group targets markets overseas by promoting new foreign investment into Malta as well as re-investment. It also manages the corporation's overseas offices.
The second group has a bilateral role. Part of the group handles client relations and supports entrepreneurship within Malta and its sister island Gozo, which group is organised by sector. The other section of the group is responsible for strategic planning and the corporate business plans.
The third group develops the incentives and manages related activities, including corporate finance.
The fourth group is responsible for various corporate functions such as human resources, administration, information technology, marketing communications, public relations, compliance, and legal matters.

Main Activities
- Attracting and supporting new inward FDI that positively impacts Malta’s economy through increasing value added.
- Facilitating and assisting established FDI and local enterprises (in target sector) to consolidate and expand their operations in Malta.
- Nurturing innovative start-ups with high growth potential.
- Improving Malta’s competitive advantage by promoting innovation, technology and industrial R&D.
- Engaging with stakeholders on policies, laws, regulations, resources and infractructure conducive to investment and economic wealth.
- Assisting local micro enterprises to attain a sufficient level of long term sustainable growth in their businesses.
- Fostering continuous professional and personal development of Malta Enterprise personnel to be responsive and adaptable to our client’s needs.
