Arts Council Malta launches Cultural Export Fund

Maltese artists will have increased opportunities to export their work after a new fund aimed specifically to support artists showcase their work abroad was launched today.

The fund – called the Cultural Export Fund – will deploy a total of just over €130,000 annually in grants for travel, touring and translation. The Cultural Export Fund builds on the success of Malta Arts Fund’s Mobility Grant and Spreading Words and was developed further into a new programme with increased investment to reflect the focus on cultural export. 

Go Global Programme for new exporters

Malta Enterprise has assisted 14 SMEs to develop their internationalisation strategy through an Export Planning Course as part of its Go Global Programme for new exporters.

The first group of participants included representatives of companies involved in a variety sectors, such as food and catering, clothing design, ICT business solutions, furniture, energy, and software development, amongst others.

The Malta Enterprise offices and Business First will be closed all day on the 17th of April, 2015. The service will return to its normal schedule on the 20th of April, 2015.

Malta Industrial Parks offices, located within the same building, will continue operating normally.

Six painters exhibit at Malta Enterprise

As part of its efforts to promote ever closer links between culture and entrepreneurship, Malta Enterprise is hosting a painting exhibition in the foyer at its offices in Gwardamangia.

Six renowned Maltese artists are exhibiting a sample of their works in what promises to be the first of a series of exhibitions to be held at the offices of Malta Enterprise. In total, 26 paintings are on exhibition.

Application deadline for Export programmes extended

Malta Enterprise has extended the deadline for the submission of applications for its export programmes, namely the Go Global Programme and the Global Growth Competition, until Wednesday, 15 April 2015.

The Go Global Programme focuses on those companies that are new to export or whose export revenue is less than 20%, while the Global Growth Competition is aimed at established exporters and involves a selection process which will take the form of a competition.

Trade Malta launched

Trade Malta, a public private partnership between Malta Enterprise and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, has been launched and will be solely responsible for the promotion of trade and internationalisation of Maltese businesses.

Call for Erasmus+ KA2 Project Partners

Malta Enterprise is looking for partners to work on a project aimed at increasing awareness about industry and entreprenership in schools through the creation of an educational app for tablets and/or other devices.

The Call is open for any organization - particularly those involved in education, business support, institutions as well as private enterprise - until March 6th, 2015 at 12:00h CET.

Business Delegation to Oman

Malta Enterprise is organising a business delegation to the Sultanate of Oman towards the end of April, 2015 to promote investment and enhance industrial collaboration between the two countries in various sectors. 

The business delegation will be led by the Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business, Hon. Chris Cardona and is being undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Malta and Bank Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman.
