Crane Currency inaugurates Malta facility

Crane Currency has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art secruty printing plant in Hal Far, a €100million investment that will create 300 new jobs. The company is the second global security printing firm to operate from Malta after De La Rue, which has a long standing relationship with the country.

During the first three quarters of 2017, the Gross Value Added generated by the manufacturing sector in Malta recorded a growth of 8.2%. This sector employs around 21,000 employees, which roughly amounts to 11% of total full-time employment in Malta. Around 1,200 of these employees work directly in the security printing niche and related activities which will now continue to grow.
