State Aid training for ME personnel

Professor Phedon Nicolaides from the College of Europe and University of Maastricht delivered a training session on State Aid for Malta Enterprise personnel.

The training session, which was being held for the second time, was coordinated by the Incentives Management Unit within the corporation and had the aim of empowering Malta Enterprise personnel on State Aid regulations as well as helping them to keep abreast with the extensive State Aid modernization.

Malta Enterprise approves 128 projects in 2017

Malta Enterprise approved a total of 128 major projects in 2017, with a healthy mix of local and foreign projects. Of these, 33 were new projects and 95 were expansions of existing operations.

Forecast investment collectively amounts to €249.2 million, while new employment generated within three years as a result of these projects is envisaged to reach 2,251 jobs.

Sectors mainly comprised manufacturing, life sciences including pharmaceuticals and medical services, ICT and digital media, as well as other services.

Applications for Expo 2020 Innovation Impact Grant Programme open

The Innovation Impact Grant Programme is an initiative launched by the organisers of Expo 2020 Dubai which aims to fund novel and innovative solutions that encapsulate the spirit of the theme 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future'. The focus areas for funding are the sub-theme areas of 'Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability'. Successful applicants will demonstrate how new innovations or the innovative application of existing solutions addressing global challenges could lead to impressive impacts at community level. 

SR Technics to expand Malta facility

SR Technics will be expanding its aircraft maintenance facility in Malta with a modern multi-bay hangar for narrow- and wide-body aircraft. With a size of 30,000 sqm, including workshop space, the new infrastructure will enable SR Technics to increase its capacity for heavy maintenance, C-checks and any cabin modifications or retrofits to up to six narrow-body aircraft at a time.

Allocation of units at Tal-Hofra complex

Malta Enterprise is accepting applications for the allocation of these units at Tal-Hofra, Xewkija from micro manufacturing enterprises. The construction and development of this workshop complex is co-financed under Priority Axis 3 of Operational Program I: Enhancing Malta’s competitiveness through investment in SMEs and is targeted for the use of micro manufacturing enterprises which are either at start-up phase or would need to relocate to a more suitable location.
