Malta Enterprise continues to support Malta’s role in Europe’s digital and industrial transformation through its ongoing engagement with European semiconductor policy developments.

As part of these efforts, Mr Matthew Xuereb, Policy Officer at DG CNECT, European Commission, delivered a presentation on Europe’s semiconductor strategy, with a focus on the EU Chips Act 2.0. The session was attended by representatives from the Ministry for Economy, Technology and Strategic Projects, the Permanent Representation of Malta to the EU (PREU), and EUCD.

Malta Enterprise Celebrates First Anniversary of Malta Semiconductor Competence Centre with New Strategic Partnerships

On the first anniversary of the Malta Semiconductor Competence Centre, Malta Enterprise is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BLUMORPHO and Malta Venture Capital, marking another important milestone in strengthening Malta’s deep tech ecosystem.

The European Commission (Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and SMEs – DG GROW), in collaboration with an external consortium led by Intellera Consulting, is conducting an Impact Assessment to support the revision of the EU Standardisation Regulation (No 1025/2012).

As this initiative has been identified as “SME-relevant”, we are seeking to engage SMEs, including companies and industry organisations, to gather key insights on the potential costs and benefits of the policy options under consideration.

A PMC for preparation, drafting and delivery of a National Industrial Policy for Malta was published on etenders.gov.mt 

The purpose of this Preliminary Market Consultation (PMC) propasal submission is to gather market information prior to the publication of a Call for Tender for the preparation, drafting and delivery of a National Industial Policy for Malta in relation to the Government of Malta's wider Vision 2050. 

The British High Commission, Malta Enterprise and Medtech Makers Lab are pleased to welcome a Delegation of UK Life Sciences entrepreneurs and experts to Malta. Their visit aims to deepen understanding of Malta’s rapidly growing life sciences ecosystem, explore areas of shared expertise and identify opportunities for innovative partnerships.

The Business Development scheme will be amended to include the refurbishment and restoration of businesses that suffered damages caused by the heavy storm that hit our country on 20th January.

The 3rd Edition of the Global Semiconductor Conference Malta (GSCM) will take place on 16-17 November 2026 

Against an evolving geopolitical and policy landscape, the next phase of the Chips Act, IPCEI 3 and the European Competitiveness Fund, the GSCM will provide a key platform for discussions on Europe’s technological sovereignty in semiconductors.

Led by the Malta Semiconductor Competence Centre (MSCC), ChipStart EU is accepting applications for its second early-stage semiconductor incubator, building on the momentum of Cohort One.

Thsi no-equity, no-cost, one-year programme, delivered by Silicon Catalyst EU Ltd in collaboration with Malta Enterprise and supported by the Chips Joint Undertaing (Chips JU), helps EU-based semicondutor start-ups scale faster.

Early-stage semiconductor start-ups in the EU that have raised <$1.5M VC and/or Angel funding.
