Malta Enterprise hosted a seminar on additive manufacturing, more commonly known as 3D printing, which is one of the fastest growing industries in recent years as more and more industries are realising its full potential.
Stakeholders mostly from the local manufacturing industry were shown the various benefits of 3D printing and its applications within industry. Among others, these include the possibility of mass customization of products, a quicker and more efficient way of producing prototypes, as well as the possibility of using a tool-less production process.
The variety of materials, which nowadays has expanded widely to metals, plastics, resin, ceramics and wood, was also demonstrated during the seminar.
The seminar was organised in collaboration with the Kordin Business Incubation Centre (KBIC), 4JM Solutions Ltd and Spring Italia Srl. 4JM Solutions Ltd is an equipment provider for various industries and is also a former tenant of KBIC, while Spring Italia Srl operate within the 3D printing industry.
