Trade Malta launched

Trade Malta, a public private partnership between Malta Enterprise and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, has been launched and will be solely responsible for the promotion of trade and internationalisation of Maltese businesses.

Call for Erasmus+ KA2 Project Partners

Malta Enterprise is looking for partners to work on a project aimed at increasing awareness about industry and entreprenership in schools through the creation of an educational app for tablets and/or other devices.

The Call is open for any organization - particularly those involved in education, business support, institutions as well as private enterprise - until March 6th, 2015 at 12:00h CET.

Business Delegation to Oman

Malta Enterprise is organising a business delegation to the Sultanate of Oman towards the end of April, 2015 to promote investment and enhance industrial collaboration between the two countries in various sectors. 

The business delegation will be led by the Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business, Hon. Chris Cardona and is being undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Malta and Bank Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman.

Info Sessions explain MicroInvest

More than 250 prospective applicants attended a number of information sessions organized by Business First to provide information on the revised MicroInvest scheme.  A total of six info-sessions were held; five in Malta and another one in Gozo.

During the info sessions, Business First representatives explained in detail the revised Incentive Guidelines and the application process, while those attending had the opportunity to raise any queries they had.

ME hosts Additive Manufacturing seminar

Malta Enterprise hosted a seminar on additive manufacturing, more commonly known as 3D printing, which is one of the fastest growing industries in recent years as more and more industries are realising its full potential.

Stakeholders mostly from the local manufacturing industry were shown the various benefits of 3D printing and its applications within industry. Among others, these include the possibility of mass customization of products, a quicker and more efficient way of producing prototypes, as well as the possibility of using a tool-less production process.

Joint venture to develop energy trading hub

A joint venture has been formed between Malta Enterprise and the Singapore company International Energy Group (IEG) with the aim of developing Malta into a trading hub for energy products between Europe and Asia.

Malta Enterprise will have a minority shareholding in the company in Malta.

Earlier this year, Malta Enterprise signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the consortium of private Singapore entrepreneurs that now own IEG.

Photo Competition winner announced

The talent of local photographers was expressed in a number of high quality submissions for the photographic competition organised by Malta Enterprise with a focus on Malta's industrial heritage.

A panel of 5 judges reviewed the submissions, with their choice ultimately awarding photographer Stephen Vella.

The competition was organised with the aim of diffusing better appreciation and understanding of Malta’s rich industrial heritage and milieu, which spans back for entire decades and reflects the changes that the country itself has gone through.
