ME hosts seminar on Doing Business with Cuba

Malta Enterprise has organised a Seminar for local entrepreneurs interested in doing business with Cuba, whereby information was provided on the business environment and the opportunities that the Caribbean country offers to those wishing to expand their business in the region.

The seminar commenced with a presentation by Isamary González Jover, the Counsellor at the Cuban Embassy in Rome responsible for Economic and Commercial Affairs, who gave a detailed overview of the country from a range of perspectives, including amongst others business and tourism.

Initiatives promoting Malta in Germany, Austria

The Malta Enterprise Germany Office has over the past weeks embarked on a number of initiatives to promote Malta as the ideal trade and investment location in Germany and Austria.

Amongst others, Malta Enterprise took part in the Export Day in Linz, Austria, which is one of the biggest entrepreneurial forums taking place in the capital of Upper Austria - the economically strongest state in Austria as far as industry is concerned.

CIP opportunities highlighted in info session

Two well-attended information sessions, one in Malta and another in Gozo, provided local stakeholders with an overview of the European Commission's Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) and the range of opportunities available through the programme.

Organised by Malta Enterprise, the information sessions were aimed at creating awareness and helping the stakeholders to prepare themselves in view of the upcoming calls for assistance through the CIP, which will start opening in January.

ME assisting businesses explore opportunities in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia

More than 15 companies keen to export their products and services were assisted by Malta Enterprise to explore commercial opportunities in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The business delegation to the two Gulf States comprised companies operating in sectors such as ICT, renewable energy, food and beverages, call centre and back office support, as well as professional and legal services.

Information sessions Malta and Gozo - Upcoming CIP Calls for Proposals

The European Union's (EU) Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) aims to encourage the competitiveness of European enterprises. It is managed by the European Commission and is one of the EU's centralised competitive funding programme. With small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as its main target, the programme supports innovation activities (including eco-innovation), provides better access to finance and delivers business support services in the regions.

ME hosts Young SMEs Project thematic seminar


Twelve business support organisations working with young SMEs around Europe are meeting in Malta as part of the Young SMEs Project, a pan-European initiative targeted at SMEs in their business consolidation period between the third and fifth year of operations.

As Malta’s representative in the project, Malta Enterprise is hosting the three-day thematic seminar, which is focusing on issues related to Management within young SMEs and how such issues may have an impact on the long-term business sustainability and survival unless properly addressed.
