The annual Malta Enterprise CSR event, held to mark the Corporation's 20th anniversary, took place last Friday at St John’s Co Cathedral, Valletta, featuring the renowned international soprano Martina Bortolotti von Haderburg, tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens, Jubilate Deo Choir, the Pueri Cantores Jubilate Deo (under the direction of Daniela Ellul) together with the Cathedral organist Ronald Camilleri. The concert was organised under the direction of Mro Christopher Muscat.
Malta Enterprise proudly organised this event, which stood out for the quality of the music and the profound emotions it evoked, making it a truly memorable and successful evening. The event was held to raise funds for the Children in Need Foundation, a charitable organisation which serves to support the educational, physical, social, and mental needs of vulnerable children. The collected donations will go towards the setting up of a state of the art therapeutic space which will be equipped with child-friendly tools, sensory materials and comfortable furnishing, a vital necessity to help children feel at ease and safe but will also enhance their communication, play and emotional expression for the healing development of the children.
Daniel Abela, Founder of the Children in Need Foundation expressed his gratitude stating that “Friday’s event was simply indescribable not just because of the performance or the venue, but the entire atmosphere. I was left speechless when every one of the 500 chairs covering the entire floor at St. John’s Co Cathedral was filled. This was the best encouragement and support we could get as a foundation, as it meant that we are one step closer to finishing off the therapy facilities for our children, enabling us to provide a safe space where child engagement and the therapeutic process can happen in a comfortable and functional environment”.
William Wait Chairman of Malta Enterprise stated that Malta Enterprise has once again produced an excellent project inspired by the desire to contribute to the social good. The concert was purely an expression of gratitude for every blessing and joy. I am extremely proud of what we have managed to achieve so far. Our socially responsible journey is built on our drive to those we serve. To our beneficiaries and customers, it means we are committed to their success. To our employees, it means we are never complacent. And to our corporate culture, it is just who we are”.
George Gregory, CEO of Malta Enterprise, stated, “Last Friday’s event was a celebration not only of music and artistry but also a testament to what can be achieved when compassionate individuals come together for a common purpose. The impact of each contribution will extend far beyond the evening, bringing hope, dignity, and opportunity to those who need it most.”
Mr. Gregory expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all colleagues, artists, attendees, and supporting partners, including the Malta Tourism Authority, KM Malta Airlines, Malta International Airport, Torrent Pharma, Trust Stamp, HSBC, V&C Group, Mediterranean Insurance Brokers (MIB), St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation, and Manoel Theatre. “The evening would not have been possible without their trust and support,” he added.
