RELOS3 project kicks off

Malta is one of seven countries involved in the RELOS3 project, which aims to implement regional Smart Specialisation Strategies in a local context by actively involving local authorities, innovation actors and companies.

The project, which was launched in the city of Sabadell in Spain, will run for five years until the end of 2021. It is being funded through the Interreg Europe Programme and seeks to create innovation in EU regions.

Besides Malta, which is being represented by Malta Enterprise, project partners are coming from Estonia, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Spain. Most of the partner's specializations are connected to industrial systems, advanced manufacturing, applied industrial design and ICT.

RELOS3 is an unique opportunity to develop and contrast local research and innovation strategies for smart specialisation (RIS3). The findings will contribute to improve local policies with priority investments dedicated to RIS3 deployment and therefore to promote delivery of innovation.
