Ta’ Dbiegi showcase for local crafts, food and wine

The skills and abilities of local artisans as well as the quality of local food and wine were the focal point of the Wine and Artisan Festival held at the Ta’ Dbiegi Crafts Village in Gozo, which attracted large crowds of locals and tourists over two evenings on August 22 and 23.

Tenants at the Crafts Village were joined by other artisans as well as companies operating in Gozo to showcase their products, which comprised a wide range that amongst others included food and wine, decorative glass, jewellery and costume jewellery, leather products, paintings and sculptures, pottery and ceramics, textile works and lace, crafts and paper art, metalworks, pyrography, mosaics, and traditional souvenirs.

Patrons were also entertained by some of the local top talent, namely the Aurora Folk Band, Brasstubes, Ġorġ u Pawlu and Freddie Portelli on Friday, while Ta’ L-Astra Folk Band, Novel, George Curmi Puse` & Vinny Vella Jazz Trio and DJ Carlo Gerada took the stage on Saturday.

The event was organised by Malta Enterprise with the support of the Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Business, the Ministry for Gozo, the Enterprise Europe Network, the Commerce Department, the Gozo Business Chamber, and the Gharb Local Council.
