Malta consistently scored near the top of the league in a report about the design and delivery of digital public services in Europe. The study, carried out for the European Commission, provides an in-depth analysis of the progress made by European public administrations in their modernisation of service provision; and delivers the ‘baseline’ against which progress can be benchmarked.
With a focus on the four criteria of User Centricity, Transparency, Cross Border Mobility and Key Enablers, it was noted that Malta’s e-government services not only obtained strong results overall, but also provided an example of “good practise” with the Business First Portal of our point of single contact for businesses, as it was felt that this leverages the potential of ICT to provide a value added service to citizens as well as improving government administration.
