As part of the efforts to increase economic ties between the Russian Federation and Malta, Malta Enterprise hosted a delegation of Russian entrepreneurs who were exploring the business opportunities that Malta offers.
Around 50 Russian business representatives from various sectors including banking, construction, pharmaceuticals, communications, aviation, and tourism participated in the business forum, which was organised by Malta Enterprise with the support of the International Organisation for Cooperation, EXPO-MOS.
The forum not only provided the platform to outline what benefits each country has to offer in terms of trade and investment opportunities, but also the opportunity for entrepreneurs to network between each other.
Besides Malta Enterprise, presentations were also delivered by FinanceMalta, the Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, the General Retailers and Traders Union, and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.
Malta Enterprise is also actively promoting and facilitating increased trade and investment relations between Malta and Russia. Amongst other initiatives, Malta Enterprise is currently negotiating an MOU with the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry following a successful visit to the Chamber in Moscow in November 2011, with a view towards strengthening the cooperation between the two organisations.
