Business made simpler through Business First

Business First, the first stop shop for businesses in Malta, has opened its doors with the aim of facilitating the day to day operations of local enterprises while supporting their growth and successful operation.

Operated by Malta Enterprise at its new premises at the former Institute of Health Care within St Luke's Hospital in Pietà, Business First shall be providing over 50 different services currently being provided by various Government departments and entities, thus saving unnecessary running around for entrepreneurs who can thus focus more on running their business.

New scheme for quality certification

Malta Enterprise has launched a new scheme to assist small and medium enterprises invest in improving their products, services and process and obtain quality marks or certifications which attest such improvements.

Through the Quality+ scheme, Malta Enterprise may approve deductions from taxable income amounting to 150% of the eligible expenditure incurred for achieving the required improvement. The approved amount would be deducted from the taxable income of the beneficiary, resulting in an effective reduction in the payable tax.

ME sponsoring Arabic language course for business

(January 10th, 2012) - Malta Enterprise is organising a practical introductory course to the Arabic language aimed at those entrepreneurs carrying out their business activities in Arab speaking countries or interested in expanding their business activities in the region.

The course, which will be provided free of charge, is scheduled to start on January 30th, 2012. Two-hour sessions between 18:30h and 20:30h will be held at the Kordin Business Incubation Centre (KBIC) twice weekly every Monday and Wednesday until June 27th, 2012.

Gateway to Export training kicks off

Twenty-one entrepreneurs from a multitude of sectors in both the manufacturing and services industries have started training on export management as part of the assistance that is being provided by Malta Enterprise through its Gateway to Export programme.

The training programme, which is being delivered by the Malta Institute of Management, is specifically aimed at micro enterprises and SMEs and is structured in such a manner so as to give them the knowledge and skills they require to go global and succeed in their endeavours.
