Eight Maltese companies have been assisted by Malta Enterprise to participate in the SIAL Food Fair, one of the major international events within the food and beverage industry which is held on a biennial basis in Paris, France.
Billed as the global food marketplace, SIAL has for the past 40 years provided the ideal platform to industry stakeholders to explore, discuss, sense, anticipate and adapt to the fast changing markets.
From one edition to the next, SIAL has become an effective business arena and a place to anticipate and highlight innovation within the food and beverage industry, to interpret the trends and initiate new food fashions.
SIAL is the largest showcase in the world for the food industry, attracting around 5,700 exhibitors and almost 150,000 visitors from around the globe, including market players from retail, foodservice, import-export and manufacturing.
The event is spread over eight halls with 19 product sector and food channels. The first three halls are dedicated to national pavilions and regions of the world, with Malta Enterprise coordinating the Maltese stand.
Malta Enterprise has also assisted the local companies to participate in the event and put up their own exhibiting space where to showcase their products, with the support being particularly useful for the first time exhibitors who were also guided in their participation.
Malta's Ambassador in France H.E. Pierre Clive Agius was among those who visited the Maltese companies' stands, which were kept busy throughout the fair with queries about the products they were promoting and discussions on possible business opportunities.
