EEN helping SMEs navigate in COVID-19 crisis

In the context of the coronavirus pandemic, small and medium-sized enterprises around the world are struggling to bounce back from the challenges they are currently facing. Their priorities have shifted and their needs have changed. To help them navigate in these unfamiliar waters, the Enterprise Europe Network is showing what resilience is all about.

The abrupt and sweeping changes the world is facing have forced everyone to adapt quickly to an unprecedented situation. This is just as true for SMEs who are struggling to stay afloat and to adjust to the current crisis.

Categories of companies and self-employed that will benefit from COVID Wage Supplement Updated

Malta Enterprise is publishing an updated list of self-employed and business categories that will be entitled for the COVID Wage Supplement measure, following consultations with Government. The updated Annex A can be found here  The updated Annex B can be found here

Extension of MicroInvest submission deadline for self-employed

Due to disruptions caused by COVID-19, Malta Enterprise is extending the primary deadline for self-employed persons to submit their MicroInvest application from 24th March, 2020 to 30th April, 2020.  Applicants are still urged to submit their applications at the earliest possible so that the evaluation process can still function efficiently.

Malta Enterprise and Universita’ di Salerno to set-up joint business incubator in Malta

Malta Enterprise and Universita’ degli Studi di Salerno (UniSA) signed a cooperation agreement to support a new concept model called ‘Economy of the Mediterranean’ (MED) which will lead to the setting up of a joint business incubator for start-ups in Malta.

The aim of the Memorandum of Understanding between ME and UniSA is to promote and support research, development and innovative projects in Malta. The business incubator will serve as a hub for the transfer of technology and knowledge as well as attraction of new investment in Malta and the Mediterranean region.
